Customizable, Commercial, and Sensational Pool Slides
In the early 90's, the Aqua Deluxe 720 took the pool industry by storm. Let us first begin with a little background about how our pool slides got here and how we became the leader of making swimming pool slides. From the early 70's to the mid 90's there were not much out there as far as slides were concerned for commercial or residential swimming pools. The internet was new and interested slide buyers settled for the status quo. So what was out there? All of us grew up with one familiar style of pool slide roaming the market. It sold well and for a good price. Like all things inexpensive the trade off was in safety.
There was an inherent design flaw with this kind of pool slide. Price dictated instead of safety. It is one thing climbing up the little flimsy ladder with a less than adequate handrails. Once you got up there, there was barely any side rails to help you from falling off and hitting the concrete. The slide trough was too shallow and the turns abrupt. The list goes on. Forward more than 40 years later CPSC is still issuing recalls with "newer" and "safer" pool slides sold by our competitors. So what gives? Because the market was small the US consumer protection safety commission, formed in 1972, did not exist long enough to collect data to reflect what was needed for a safe pool slide.
Instead, CPSC used the most popular slide at the time to bench mark a safety standard for pool slides. The pool slide market is pretty small. Now, there are more pool slide options to choose from. Other pool slide manufacturers still make and sell pool slides based on the old unsafe standard. The commercial playground industry uses a unified standard which was implemented without resistance. In the early 90's, we began manufacturing playground components for some of the biggest names in the industry. They consistently white labeled our slide components. We began to build our reputation and through a chance encounter moved into making and selling commercial swimming pool slides.
In late 1996, we came out with the Aqua Deluxe 720. The swimming pool construction industry went wild for it. Back then, it was such a learning curve for us and the pool builders. They were struck that we offered, a safer and bigger more expensive pool slide than what they were used to. It took a while but like with anything exciting and new the 720 won their trust and went on to win awards and was accepted as a high-end pool slide for customers with both residential and commercial swimming pools. Over 20 years later, the 720 and all its smaller siblings (630, 450, and 360) have not had any safety claims or been recalled by the CPSC.
Throughout the years Summit-USA introduced different versions of the Aqua Deluxe. The success spawned marginal copies that have not come close in quality and price. Many people customize their Aqua Deluxes for a different look and performance. The award winning Aqua Deluxe has been featured on TV and in the movies, even the Royal Family of Brunei had to have one for their swimming pool. When it comes to commercial pool slides and customized pool slides, we are the right choice!
